All gold plating eventually fades over time. To prolong the items life for many years I would not recommend wearing them in the shower and bed every day. If gold plated, avoid spraying perfume or other chemicals on them as it can cause the gold to fade quicker. If the item is just stainless steel (silver), they are tarnish resistant.
